Overview

Applied Technology and Management (ATM), a Geosyntec Company, is looking for a QA/QC Engineer (Marine and Coastal Projects) with at least 5 years of experience to join our practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This will be a one-year, fixed-term assignment.  Apply your engineering skills such as ensuring that the quality of the project of the site installations is consistent with the approved specifications and compliant with national and international applicable standards, overseeing inspections and testing, implementing the QA/QC plan at the site, and addressing non-conformance issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement the QA/QC management system at site.
  • Coordinate the quality inspections with all the site subcontractors and vendors and coordinate all testing on site.
  • Coordinate with the client representative on all quality matters.
  • Distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to site subcontractors.
  • Verify that the quality related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards.
  • Participate in the site internal and external site audits.
  • Ensure all quality control documentation is compliant and competed for as-built drawings.
  • Control all nonconformance reports and undertake remedial action.
  • Review the client specifications.
  • Monitor the implementation of the approved site QC Plan.
  • Complete and coordinate the approval of the sites QC technical submittals to the client.
  • Coordinate with the site construction manager on all quality issues and lead the QA/QC site weekly meetings with the project’s subcontractors
  • Oversee the inspection and test programs.
  • Ensure the safety is adhered to at the site.
  • Assure all technical documents relative to site quality control are up-to-date.
  • Control and the distribution of all the company’s quality documentation and monitor all issued nonconformance reports.
  • Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system. Recommend and implement improvements when required.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, coastal, structural or geotechnical engineering, or a related field of study (required)
  • Advanced degree in civil, coastal, structural or geotechnical engineering, or a related field of study (desirable)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of related experience, with exposure to coastal, marine, geotechnical, and structural engineering, and construction projects; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Experience managing a quality assurance and control program at a construction site.
  • Experience as an auditor (ISO9001:2015)
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
  • Experience with international design standards including Eurocode and British Standards as well as industry practice and local regulations. (required)
