Applied Technology and Management (ATM) a Geosyntec Company, is looking for an Commercial Diver and Inspector:  Marine and Coastal Projects with at least 6 years of experience to join our practice in Dubai, UAE. This will be a one-year, fixed-term assignment.  Apply your commercial diving skills for collecting, processing, analysing, and reporting inspection data of underwater structures. This position is also responsible for overseeing all project diving operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Regularly inspect all underwater construction to make sure construction work is in compliance with design specifications
  • Plan, schedule, guide and monitor all underwater inspection activities and divers
  • Report inspection findings and providing recommendations for corrective and preventive actions for underwater structures
  • Review, evaluate and analyse inspection data.
  • Provide technical support and prepare procedures for underwater repairs and maintenance.
  • Conduct general underwater maintenance when required
  • Maintain safety of dive team and ensure that the diving operation is carried out from dive site equipped to deal with emergencies as per diving operation manual.
  • Brief all divers on the operational & contingency plans and procedures to be followed during the diving operation.
  • Maintain inspection software and hardware systems
  • Pre-qualify and supervise contracted inspection and maintenance workers
  • Oversee diving operations to ensure delivery of work progress to meet target deadlines.
  • Ensure that the diving equipment is adequate and in good operating condition.

Education and Licensure

  • High school diploma. (required)
  • Commercial diver’s license. (required)
  • Surface-Supplied Air Diving Supervisor, ADCI Certified. (required)
  • Class 2 Surface Supply, 50 Meters (Wet Bell, U/W Tools, Chamber Operations, IMCA Certified. (required)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of related experience overseeing underwater diving and inspections for coastal and marine construction projects. (required)
  • Experience with underwater inspections for sea walls, geotextiles, seabeds, pipe laying, piles, concrete piers and other structures.  (required)
  • Knowledge of working with a variety of diving systems, diving operations and an understanding of the hazards affecting the safe conduct of diving operations. (required)
  • Knowledge of diving equipment and an understanding of the safe assembly of diving systems. (required)
  • Experience/ability to plan and supervise diving operations. (required)
