We continue to grow in Europe with numerous new hires, and are now looking for Project (PM) or Senior (Senior PM) Environmental Practitioners to join our dynamic and growing team in Helsinki, Finland.

 

Specifically, we are looking for specialists with significant experience in environmental due diligence (EDD), and environmental impact assessments and permitting for the industrial and energy sectors. Our new colleagues will also have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary network of experts in our offices in Europe, North America and Australia.

 

Together with your colleagues, you will contribute to the construction of our environmental businesses in the Nordic Region, Europe, North America, and Australia.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project and task management, including planning and implementing investigation and due diligence projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
  • Environmental Due Diligence (EHS/ESG) and auditing, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Licensing & Permitting, Risk Assessments;
  • Leading projects involving due diligence with substantial historical research including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments;
  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties;
  • Training and mentoring of early and mid-career professionals;
  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals; and
  • Developing task, project, and client management skills.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or a related field of study (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
  • Professional certification or membership to professional bodies (desirable)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Detailed understanding of Finnish and EU energy, industrial and environmental regulations. (required)
  • Understanding of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). (desirable)
  • Experience working in the renewable energy sector. (desirable)
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (desirable)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Valid Finnish driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
  • This position requires the ability to collaborate and communicate both internally and externally, so bilingual proficiency in Finnish and English is valuable.
